My 2 cents on Bittergate

Sigh. When will candidates ever learn? What you say to your bosom buddies and supporters in public at fundraisers has got to be ready for prime time America as well. How many macacas must be uttered before this simple fact hits home? Everything you do is tracked and recorded. If I were running for president, I would not sing in the shower without first running the lyrics through my messaging people. 'Cause that shit could well end up on YouTube.

Do you ever wonder why sociology professors rarely get elected president? You have your answer, Mr. Obama!

What's interesting to me is that while Obama should have chosen his words better, I see it just as a slip up that he's getting vilified for because the press has nothng better to do...The question that should be asked is whether or not it is/was wise for Obama not to make a public issue of Hilary's kosovo story. If she's claiming her legitimacy based on her experience, and this experience is based on making up stories, isn't that a concern. Making up stories to beef up one's experience, or if you're McCain, talking about Al-Quaeda's connection with Iran, is much more of a red flag than poorly selected words by a church goer, who has a hard time describing the more important role that faith has during hard times.

This you-tube 24/7 media world we are in is obsessed with finding the human flaws in all our leaders. The negative impact this will have is in discouraging very good people from entering public office because they don't want to drag themselves, or their family through it. We can talk more about this as we run our repeats tomorrow - great, blog, Melissa, I'm quite a big fan - Sam
