Not what we wanted to hear
"Nations must fight climate change like terrorism, Rice says" (CNN)
Oy. You mean, by blaming some country we don't happen to like for climate change, and then invading that country based on trumped up allegations? And then there's the opportunistic expansion of presidential power and curtailment of civil liberties. Is that in the voluntary climate change plan, too?

What we MUST do is send Condi Rice to lecture others on the measures that we should be doing, and are not. Oh heck, maybe she could lecture them on "freedom, human rights and democracy" too. At the same time ignoring the sections of the Patriot Act that are in defiance of our own constitution, ignoring the secret CIA prisons in other countries and the torture of prisoners that we hold. Other nations are not stupid and they all recognize (from past experience) American bullying and deceit. We are reviled for ample reasons. Even our "friends" shake their heads at our lies.
This was completely hilarious of course and your comment was right on. But I think it is much darker than the joke implies. I think Cheney's folks are starting to see what an enormous opportunity this is for more subsidies once the war wears out.
War on Drugs, War on Terror, War on Global Warming. Each will be just as successful as the others.
