Is there a deeper, political significance to the slogan with which Subway is marketing its chicken cordon bleu sandwich?

I just saw this ad posted in a restaurant here in Canada! I was aghast, to be honest. I wondered if this campaign had originated in the U.S., and i'll assume that it has, as you seem to live there yourself.
I can't believe that Canadian restaurants would display this ad ... as we too abstained from the same war in Iraq that France abstained from.
Also strange is that your blog seems to be the only Google hit i could find on the topic...
Yes, someone else has noticed! I was more than a little shocked to see this ad in my fairly liberal hometown. It is very offensive, and I'm also surprised it hasn't gotten more publicity.
